Southern Gas Association's committee structure covers virtually all parts of the natural gas business separated into eight categories – Associate Members, Customer Experience, Corporate Services, Distribution Operations and Engineering, Gas Supply Marketing, Growth and Retention and Pipeline Operations and Engineering Section Managing Committees. Across those sections, there are more than 50 committees, task forces and event planning teams with more than 500 volunteers supporting the organization.

Committees and volunteers are the energy that drives SGA forward. Committees organize and sponsor workshops, roundtables, webinars, conferences and joint industry projects. Through digital and in-person engagement, SGA members come together to share ideas, resources and best practices to develop people, relationships and solutions. 

The Gas Machinery Research Council, a subsidiary of SGA, is structured similarly with a separate board of directors and three committees, who together lead the industry forward in advanced research and education opportunities.
