William N. (Bill) Cantrell is the Executive Liaison at Southern Gas Association (SGA). With more than 40 years of experience, he has become a trusted leader across the energy industry and developed a passion for working to advance the field. Before joining SGA Bill was president and chief executive officer at SourceGas, now part of Black Hills Corp., an SGA member company. In 2009, he led SGA as chairman of the board of directors. Bill worked for TECO Energy for over 34 years, with the last 12 years serving as President of Peoples Gas. He received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tampa and a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.

We are looking for a Visual Marketing Specialist!

While working in close collaboration with the SGA marketing team, you will gain knowledge and experience from an internal team of dedicated subject matter experts and various external stakeholders that you will use to strategically market member benefits and educational opportunities while increasing the overall perception of natural gas. At SGA, we believe that learning crushes knowing, so the visual marketing specialist should be willing to take on additional responsibilities and approach challenges as growth opportunities to evolve at the company.

This position reports to thedirector of marketing, with a great deal of autonomy under intermittent supervision.

The visual marketing specialist joins a solid marketing team, bringing your exceptional design skill and raising the bar on SGA’s visual storytelling. Your attention to detail is legendary. You are well-versed in artfully designing brand-compliant content across a range of digital and physical platforms, executive-level presentation design, social media channels, email campaigns, website content, special events, and more.  A portfolio is required; we want to see what you’ve got! 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaboration: Actively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create best in class communications 

  • Design: Social mediapromotional emails, newsletters, conference guidebooks, thought leadership layouts

  • Attitude: Encourage positive solutions and be a contributor to the team culture while inspiring the team to grow

  • Innovation: Design fresh and modern promotional collateral, discover and implement emerging design trends

  • Flexibility: The role and its responsibilities outlined here are a representative sampling—but at SGA, we pivot with purpose, allowing you to stretch and grow

 

Frequently used programs in this role include: 

  • Required: Adobe Creative Suite

  • Required: Microsoft  Suite 

  • Required: Email Campaign Creation & Management Experience (Mail Chimp & Informz strongly preferred)

  • Ideally: Website maintenance (Wordpress & Drupal knowledge or enthusiastic willingness to become a ninja)

 

Qualifications 

  • Minimum oftwo years of professional design experience with a solid portfolio of work

  • Strong working knowledge of marcomm design

  • A degree in Marketing, Design, Fine Arts, or related field is a plus, but ambition + a combination of work experience and a great portfolio can be substituted

 

Who you are: 

  • You have expert working knowledge of communication design tools, including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, XD) PowerPoint. Motion design experience a plus.

  • Youre strategic and passionate about marketing, storytelling, and marcomms contribution to securing brand reputation.

  • Your breadth of design experience is diverse, with strong typography, graphic design, and layout skills. You enjoy creative conception with a preference for contemporary, fresh, clean lines and inspirational concepts

  • You get things done quickly, accurately, and efficiently

  • Youre comfortable working among strong personalities, and you are personable

  • Youre detail orientated and organized

  • You can transition quickly between multiple projects.

  • Youre a creative problem solver whos passionate about design and open to learning new design trends

Working Conditions:

At SGA, we create safe and secure communities, and so we are working remotely with no in-person gatherings or conferences scheduled until June 2021 due to COVID-19. Remote working is available with travel to our headquarters in Dallas, TX, and conferences possible in the future.
